Take Me Home
Narrative • USA • 2026
91 Minutes
Synopsis: Anna cares for her aging parents in a fragile balance of meeting one another’s needs. When a Florida heat wave shatters their family and Anna’s routine, her future is uncertain until she creates a world where she can thrive.
Take Me Home started life as a short film that played at Sundance in 2023. After entering the Tribeca Untold Stories competition, the filmmakers were awarded $1 million to turn it into a feature, just like last year’s EbertFest selection, Color Book, now streaming on Netflix.
In January, Take Me Home had its World Premiere at Sundance, where it won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Prize—the same award won by last month’s screening, Morris From America.
The film has a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes, including a 3.5-star review from RogerEbert.com, and a 3.6 on Letterboxd. And trust me, the ending is one you’ll want to discuss as soon as the credits roll!
